It felt like one of our best parties as we say farewell to Louis before he heads off to NYC. The Dancing comp going off as per usual. I am little sorry. This one could have been run a little bit better, but it is not a competition that we take too seriously. It is supposd to be fun. And Louis finishing the night off accompanied by his sister Gina on the mic and the 101 Doll Squadron bruking out. Vibes

‘O’ the joys of sharing in the communal experience of music. Four hundred or so people brought together in a small dark room. Cheering in unison when a new song is played. Singing each word of Drake’s ‘Marvin’s Room’ – feeling that deep loneliness that comes with being rich and desirable. Popping to each clap of Khia’s ‘My Neck My Back’ – thinking damn straight “the best head comes from a thug”. Needless to say vibes were up for the latest Haters Convention.

I was worried at one point that SK Simeon would jump up and hit the ceiling. Full of positive vibes and more bounce than a Gummy Bear, the Melbourne Dancehall artist had the club wiggling and wining along with his explosive live show. Look out for more live music at Dutty in the future.
101 Dollsquad also killed it on the night. It truly felt like The Beatles had come to town as the dancers took the stage to the sound of girls screaming. Featuring Chantelle Peters, our Sydney Dancehall Queen, alongside Gloria and Ashlee, the girls treated us to one of the finest displays of booty shaking this side of the world.
Nick Toth and Louis Basslines smashed out stunning selection of the latest dancehall hits alongside some older classics, I was also… there.

Beyonce for the win on Valentines Day. People were lining up like Queen Bee herself was actually performing. The night started with Joyride and Shantan Wantan Ichiban on the decks building the dancefloor up with a mix of new and classic rnb. Just after midnight Alphamama took to the stage, pumping out a megamix of Beyonce hits with the entire club singing along to every word. Wining up in the early hours the performance was finished in fine fashion with a medley of Destiny’s Child favourites.
Hope you had as much fun as we did. Keep in contact via the Book of Facebooks via Shantan Wantan Ichiban and Joyride‘s pages.
